The “Truth as a Right” workshop amplifies migrant voices and positions truth as a fundamental civic right. It aims to illuminate the ways media narratives can contribute to misinformation and biased reporting about migrants. By critically examining how truth is manipulated, the workshop demonstrates how communities can actively reclaim it as a civic right.
Through the collaborative drafting of a “Truth as a Right Charter”, participants will explore shared commitments to ethical communication, challenge harmful stereotypes that perpetuate discrimination against migrants, and strengthen civic trust. Simultaneously, the workshop will highlight the often-overlooked positive contributions of migrants, fostering solidarity and promoting responsible media practices that support more inclusive, accurate, and truthful public discourse.
