Data-Based Advocacy training for CSOs by the European Union project Civic Space
Civic Space organized a "Data-Based Advocacy" training to support the advocacy capacities of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and strengthen their data collection, data monitoring, data visualizing, and data-based advocacy skills. 14 CSO representatives participated in the online training held on the 20th and 21st of December 2021.
The 'Data-Based Advocacy" training was designed to provide practical skills in line with civil society organizations' needs. The training has contributed to examining practices and introducing methods & tools for data compilation and management. It has introduced strategies for monitoring, reporting, and visualizing data, built practical skills, and showed possible ways of data-based advocacy.
The trainers have shared their experiences and good practices about data-based advocacy. The participants had the opportunity to practice together through group studies facilitated by the trainers. The training also allowed significant interaction between the participants and potential future collaborations. During the group studies, participants worked together on their current and planned advocacy campaigns and had the opportunity to reflect on the knowledge they gained from the training.
