Civic Space organised the Accessibility Mainstreaming Workshop with the attendance of 21 participants from 9 CSOs on the 20th of December 2022.
Civic Space is a project funded by European Union with a total budget of 1.749.800 Euro, and its objective is to contribute to building, in the Turkish Cypriot community, a stronger civil society that supports democratic changes and confidence-building measures
In the workshop, Civic Space presented the recently published Accessibility Mainstreaming Guideline, developed with a participatory approach with the contributions of organisations working in the field of accessibility. The Guideline contains applicable measures that CSOs can use to make their activities accessible for all. Also, it offers a checklist to assess the existing situation and design improvement strategies to support CSOs in their accessibility mainstreaming efforts.
The Accessibility Mainstreaming Guideline is one of five guidelines developed by Civic Space for CSOs on intersectional issues. The whole set is available in Civic Space’s digital library: Ecology, Gender, Youth, Accessibility, and Rights-Based Approach Mainstreaming Guidelines. The Rights-Based Approach Mainstreaming Workshop is planned for the the 19th of January2023.
